Leheriya or Leheria is a traditional way of dyeing fabrics using the tie and dye technique practiced in Rajasthan. The fabric (usually cotton or silk) is rolled diagonally and then tied at required intervals before dyeing to produce the complex wave pattern.
This process employs the use of natural dyes and multiple washes during the final stage of preparation. And, the result is a brightly colored cloth with distinctive wave pattern.
Leheriya Turbans, Leheriya Suits and Leheriya Sarees are traditional attires worn by Rajasthani people at various occasions.
