What is Kota Doria or Kota Doriya?

#leheriyapedia

Kota Doria is a fabric made from both cotton and silk, making it shiny and comfortable. Silk gives kota doria the distinctive shine and cotton adds to the comfort of wearing it in hot weather.

The fabric is made on traditional handlooms and is characterised by the squares that are created by intersection of two sets of weft threads in a plain weave.

The plain weave with crossing threads results in greater breathability which is an added advantage to this fabric.

The yarn used for making kota doria is spun in the Nagaur region of Rajasthan.
